New kitchen counter capturing fresh sun rays sneaking inside home smile emoticon Someone is feeling honored as if he has built Taj Mahal for his l(i)oving wife 😉

My very own mini studio now, a dream that I asked daddy God in my prayers days ago. The gravy is little spicy. So you can adjust chilli powder based on the your tolerance level.

KFC-Fried-Chicken-Recipe |

Part I – Marinate Chicken & Pre-cook

Marinate your chicken with all the marinade ingredients for atleast 8 hours in the refridgerator.

KFC-Fried-Chicken-Recipe |

After 8 hours, thaw the chicken. Once they come to room temperature, pressure cook them without water in a slow flame for 7-8 minutes. This pre-cooking avoids any rawness of meat at the end of frying. Lots of water will ooze out of the chicken. Reserve it to add to part II – Batter.

KFC-Fried-Chicken-Recipe |

Part – II – Batter Dipping

Mix all the ingredients here, beat in the egg, add milk slowly and slowly whisk it until you get a smooth batter.

KFC-Fried-Chicken-Recipe |

Add the reserved chicken juice from Part I to the batter and mix well. Now, this batter will serve as first coating for the chicken.

KFC-Fried-Chicken-Recipe |

 Part-III- Crunchy Coat

Take lays, cornflakes and oats in a blender.

KFC-Fried-Chicken-Recipe |

Blend it to perform a coarse mix. Please make sure it is a coarse mixture. Add the remaining ingredients i.e garlic powder, chilly powder, salt a pinch and mix well. This mixture gives a totally yummy crunchy coating.

Part-IV- Frying

Dip the pre-cooked chicken in the batter from part-II

KFC Fried Chicken Recipe 7

Roll the battered  chicken leg in the crunchy coat mixture from part-III

KFC-Fried-Chicken-Recipe |

Heat a thick bottomed pan with enough oil to fry and deep fry them. They get ready in 5 minutes. Remove them from oil and drain on a tissue.

Vanjiram or Seer Fish Fry

God created you in HIS own image. Did God lie? Did God steal? Did God feel jealous? No, But why man created in HIS own image alone ends up doing such things ? Such questions come to you anytime? Yes I did have such questions until I knew about God’s Doxa.. A honored opinion about you is God’s Doxa. No matter what, HIS “D-O-X-A” does not change, because He chose to love us for eternity 🙂

So, here is the good news.. Sin is not breaking a set of laws or rules. Sin is having lost focus on Doxa of God about you. In a nutshell, Sin is malfunctioning not fulfilling the purpose. More on “The Sin” in the coming days 🙂

This message is an excerpt from Jesudian Silvester‘s sermons..

Dad’s Prawn Fry, Thanksgiving day post

MO (11 of 1)
It is thanksgiving day today!! And I wanted to dedicate a post to someone special in my life. Yes, this is to my most loved superhero – “My Father” 🙂 I have been writing writing long, it was difficult to complete. Cropping the content here and there, Finally here I am 🙂

If I get a chance to connect his tongue to a printer and allow him to talk to me, all that you could see on the print out is “Drink Water” 🙂 He was the right mentor. I thank him for he gave the secret to healthy and a beautiful life ever.

A versatile human I have never seen or I will ever see. He can do anything and everything. Carrying us ( me and bro ) in his two arms to the school bus stop, Polishing our shoes, Tying our shoelaces, Giving us a oil bath, Washing all the burnt vessels, Giving mom a leg massage, Cooking a full course meal for a party crowd, Throwing a party in our farm, Hunting fresh sea food from the beaches of our native in the early dawn, Befriending his students, Feeding a fussy kid in the family, Singing a bad lullaby, Taking me to the eve bazaar to teach trade, Taking us for a relaxed evening walk, Take all efforts to put us in a top college, Cry all the way leaving us in hostel, Cry like a baby seeing me depressed at my first Java arrears, Carry a ton of coconuts from our farm for 600 miles to give his daughter… Okay I should stop.. Its long.. Oh I forgot one thing.. the care and love he had for mom 😀
Of course, all romance of parents makes the home a castle, agree ? 🙂

Now I understand why Jesus taught us to pray “Father God” 🙂

If you meet my mom for the first time, she would definitely tell I became a dummy in cooking because of my husband. So, I learnt few simple delicious Non Veg recipes from the top chef of our home. So, here is dad’s perfect prawn fry 🙂

Sabudana Vada, a Low Calorie Version

Today is a remarkable day marked in my calendar. A year ago, this very same day , God proved to us again that HE has plans only to prosper us 🙂 Those were  our very early days of wedding. Like any other newly wedded couple after a small span of courtship, we  had a good fight to get into an understanding. Our profession was our biggest challenge! Shifts, overtimes, hectic weekends. uff those days were depressing.
Days of his night shifts bought frustration in me. Days of no-words, no-gestures left me lonely. Days of overtime works built a burden in me. Days rolled by And I was unhappy about myself for cribbing about him that, He is not speaking my love language. And of course Quality time is my love language. Gradually I pushed him into my stress box.
Right then, God spoke to me through the message “Being Powerful” and the orator was talking about Leech Love. That truth Hit on my face radically ! Imagine Leech writing a love letter . It would say I Love you so much that I could not live without you. In simple words It says You are My Need I want You because I need to Love . The Leach would say, Hey Baby “ I will always be with you I Will never leave you ,nor forsake ……. In the end it would Carry a Signature “With Love”(Ah there is the Lie) . I then realized, I was living like a leech coated in chocolate. God spoke with me to rest In Him and receive His Love and Supple.

When you learn to receive supply from God, you would be a supplier not a consumer.

Just as I started being a supplier in the relationship, God spoke through a friend in church about the change in his workplace &  job. A week later he got a call from the company where I working, a miracle interview for 5 mins, and He joined with me at my workplace in few days and Today we are completing a year’s togetherness at workplace 🙂 A year of fun, joy, quality time !! Daddy God proved again and I speak the same into your life!

Every little thing that matters to you, matters to ME.

On this happy day, I present to you an excellent healthy starter Sabudana Vada, a perfect coffee snack too, This is the low calorie version with little spray of oil, Do give it a try and write to me what your loved ones say 🙂

Tandoori Broccoli

Last evening, as I was standing in the billing counter in our local supermarket, I was surprised to see almost everyone checking me out! And same looks even on my way to home. I was walking all the way thinking why? I was wondering if there is something wrong with my dress or hair style or my bag?! Finally found a friend on the way who gave the same look on the broccoli bag I had and said “wow, gurl you have explored cooking this costly queen?” That is where I really wanted to explore her 😉 Once I am back home, pulled my chair, opened my laptop, stepped onto google, typed b-r-o-c-c-o-l-i and found many things similar between her and Daddy God. I personally fell in love with this gorgeous veggie!!

Broccoli is from a humble cabbage family.
Of course, our Daddy God who is a king, was born in a humble family  so that he is reachable to anyone from the king to the servant.

She is the flowering head of the plant.
He calls HIS daughter, rose of Sharon.

She has all the healing properties especially anti-cancer properties.
Daddy has healed every disease on the cross.

She is filled with all the goodness nutrients like vitamin c and fiber.
Yes, Daddy is so rich of all the goodness and the verse says

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Psalms 34:8

As you taste and see HIM, you cannot thank HIM enough for the goodness HE poured into your life 🙂 Come, Lets now taste tandoori broccoli and enjoy the goodness!!

Step by step Tutorial below…

1) Blanch the broccoli using this method.
2) Strain your yogurt to remove excess water.
3) Prepare the marinade with yogurt, chopped pickle, pickle masala, ginger garlic paste and salt. I used garlic pickle with the garlic pieces chopped. Any favorite pickle of yours can be used.

4) Taste the marinade and add if chilly powder is required.
5) Coat the broccoli with marinade.

1) Thread the broccoli onto skewers and place them on a grill rack covered with foil paper. Drizzle very little oil. Bake the broccoli for 15 mins in the oven at 180 degree celsius. Invert the skewers once a while to ensure even cooking. You can also grill or barbeque them.
2) If you do not have oven/ grill/ bbq/ stove top tandoor, you can use a naan grill. Oil the naan grill, place the skewers on them and brush little oil on the skewers. Switch on the stove and cook them on a medium flame. This gives a smoky flavor to the broccoli. Of course, you have to bear with some mess on the stove if your yogurt is watery. I adopted this way when I was preparing it for blog. Earlier I have made them in the oven. Both comes out good except for the little difference in texture. My oven is not working now and hence could not take pictures of that method.

3) Once they are little brown, saute them on a tawa for a minute on high flame and switch off the stove.

And see the goodness, yummy and a pretty appetizer.

My Notes:

1. It is good to avoid more sour pickle.
2. Straining yoghurt or using hung curd is preferred as it eliminates cleaning efforts.3. The taste has to be eyeballed by yourself with the pickle that you use 🙂

Do try out and let me know 🙂
